Movies Are All Around Us. No, but literally. Turns out, films aren’t just things you watch at the cinema or on your screens. They're real-live stories and sequences occupying objects, spaces, and ideas anywhere our hearts and minds will it. For the 2024 Oak Cliff Film Festival, we built a campaign and experience from the everyday of Jefferson Boulevard and surrounding Oak Cliff area. I creative directed this campaign with Nick Denman. I also wrote the music, the scripts, and directed the films. If you find yourself thinking of screenplays and cinematography as you scroll, that makes sense.
Movies Are All Around Us
Pre-festival materials included filmmaker entry cards, posters for local establishments, and a teaser film that began to introduce the idea to independent theatre audiences. I wrote, directed, and scored this  film.
On the first day of the festival, we showed "The Filmthropologist" a welcome to the 13th Annual Oak Cliff Film Festival. I wrote, directed, and scored this film.
Throughout the festival,  short videos introduced the themed film blocks.
The program borrowed language and motifs from our films to further educate the public on just how easy it is to find a film in Oak Cliff.
Naturally, the design language and copywriting approach carried into every T-shirt, filmmaker event, and sponsored-beer-napkin-AR experience  at the festival.
As with the previous year (and the year prior), this was OCFF's most successful year to date in terms of total participation.
