Notes for my Autobiographer
- family moved to the U.S. from Taiwan. I was three and very heavy.
- got first job as paper boy. Mastered rollerblading.
- the existential period. Studied Cello Performance and Philosophy at The University of Memphis.
- left music school. Failure. Defiance. Advertising and Philosophy at Michigan State University.
- stopped studying Philosophy when I discovered truth and meaning of life. Enlightened. Bored. Genius?
- decision to become copywriter. Acquired forklift operator license that summer.
- writing copy for big brands at The Richards Group. Also small non-profits on the side. Balance?
- left The Richards Group to join a new creative team at PMG. Directed my first commercial.
- lots of new business at PMG. Helped grow the organization from 112 people to about 1500.
- oh shit, it's been a minute since I added to this timeline. Been busy at PMG (and on my own, too).
- being a writer-creative-director-commercial-director. Tryna make that a thing. I also organize DIY art events.
